What is an Escape Room?

An escape room is a puzzle where you are “locked” in a room where you must discover and solve puzzles to eventually “escape”. There are often numerous locked items around the room with items to help you solve the puzzle to escape, so you have to find clues to unlock those before unlocking the final door.

Often, there will be numerous rooms that you have to unlock before you can finally “escape” and win the game. You will find most places will allow a certain number of hints – but be careful! Some escape rooms will dock your time when you use a hint, so you must use them wisely.

There are many different escape room themes. Some are light hearted, while others are a bit more dramatic, or even scary! Be sure to check out the descriptions and difficulty levels of the escape rooms you’re looking into before booking to determine whether it will be right for you.
